About the Speaker
Prof. Robin R. Murphy is Professor Emerita of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University, Professor (Courtesy) at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, and Co-Founder of the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue (CRASAR).
She is internationally recognized as one of the founders of Disaster Robotics, with more than three decades of pioneering research and real-world deployments of robotic systems in disaster response, urban search and rescue, earthquakes, hurricanes, industrial accidents, and nuclear emergencies.
Prof. Murphy is also the author of the acclaimed MIT Press book Disaster Robotics, published in the Intelligent Robotics and Autonomous Agents series. The book is widely regarded as one of the seminal references in disaster robotics and has significantly influenced research on autonomous systems, search-and-rescue robotics, and human–robot collaboration.
